The Absolute Worst Thing There Is

Everybody knows that there's disturbing stuff on the Internet.  I used to tell people about it casually with the tag line "I browse the Internet so you don't have to."  It's how I learned about so many things that I've had to work extra hard to try and bury in the furthest recesses of my mind.  But there is something out there so horrifying on so many levels I felt that I had to talk about it.

It's a game.  A free to play game.  A free to play game about abusing women physically, sexually, and emotionally.  For FUN.

It's called Sex Gangsters, and I'm not posting any pictures because there are no safe pictures.

Here's the story as near as I can tell: Hugh Hefner wants you to take over his ridiculous empire but first you have to prove yourself by getting as many women as you can in your harem, making them take off their clothes and have sex with you, and then, as near as I can tell, ignoring them so you can go get another girl.

In at least two missions the primary story seems to be "find a specific girl already picked out ahead of time, get her drunk, and then ruin her life."  One other story is "in order to get a girl to have sex with you, make her prom queen by ruining the lives of every other contestant.  This consists of humiliating one girl by ripping her clothes off of her in public.  Another girl has pictures of her hooking up with a gym teacher framed and hung in every hallway in the school.  You humiliate one by sleeping with her so her parents discover the two of you, and the last one has you break into her house and shred all of her dresses.

Now, I know some sororities and fraternities have proms, but... well... I have this nagging feeling that a game based around abusing women isn't going to care that much.

Oh, did I mention the stores?  You can buy clothing for yourself and your women (if you decide to dress them back up) with in-game cash or gold.  How do you earn money?  Why, you open a bordello!  Or a porn studio.  Or a brothel.  Or a- well, you get the idea.  You can also cash in some energy doing things like robbing museums and taxis.

You know, wholesome behavior.

I always roll my eyes when people talk about how games like Grand Theft Auto and the like make people deviants, but this game makes me feel like there might be some validity to the argument.  At least in mainstream games they're willing to indicate there's something morally or legally wrong, but this game glamorizes it beyond any point of logic or reason.

Having only played it for a month (solely in the name of research, I swear), I can say that I have never felt dirtier or more ashamed of being a) a man, b) a gamer, c) alive.

THANK YOU!!! I just discovered that this HORRIFYING thing exists , and when I went to research what people were saying about it, sure that there would be COUNTLESS websites shunning it. Countless discussions as how this can exist. But yours is the only one I found.
Instead? Every link I found was discussions about PLAYING THE GAME and reviews like "I enjoyed it", "pretty good game" and the issue that you have to spend real money to actually COLLECT all your girls and have sex with them, etc.
As a woman, I am so unbelievably disturbed and scared by all of this.
And I agree with your title.
